My new hero, Robbie Cook of San Francisco, spends his retirement compiling his website, www.winebestbuys.com. Stacy Finz, of the San Francisco Chronicle, describes Robbie as the “Mega Wine Geek” who mails out for free his newsletter to anyone upon request. Basically, Robbie collates all the reviews and awards for each wine, outlines the scores based on the traditional 100 point wine scoring method, and highlights the “best buys” based on price compared to score. He’s my new hero because I have been wondering if there is a difference between a “90″ point score on a $12 mass produced wine or a 90 from a $50 Bordeaux. Apparently, Robbie has wondered the same thing, and believes there is no difference! Read the article here:
