First, the bad wine: a $10 2007 “La Vieille Ferme, Cotes Du Ventoux” red. We had high hopes as the 2006 was rated an 87 by Wine Spectator, but the 2007 was boring, no comments necessary other than Zupan’s on Macadam had the 2006 review next to the 2007 bottle. Q.P.R. of the Week

The clear winner of this week’s “Quality-Price-Relationship Wine of the Week” is a blend of three grapes from southwest France, Domaine De Pellehaut “Ampelomeryx”, 2006. We found this compelling white at Friday’s Square Deal Wine tasting featuring six French wines, and it was the star of the night.
